It may seem trivial or subtle, but it allows us to see how we approach the image in front of us.
Sometimes, it can come down to a single detail, its presence or absence changes everything. Here, it could be the hand, whether it’s present or absent. It can also stem from the format: the vertical or horizontal orientation demands different interpretations and compositions. Only his gaze seems to remain the same, like a center, which could invite us to somewhere else…
